Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 24, 2026

A Nanny Connection, Inc. ("we," "us," "our") is a Bay Area nanny placement and household staffing agency founded in 1996. This policy explains what personal information we collect through nannyconnection.com and our staff and client applications, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

From families (our family application and contact form): parent or guardian names, email address, phone number, home address and city, work and schedule details, the number and ages of your children and any care needs you choose to share, household details such as pets, vehicles and languages, the position you need filled, your budget, and how you heard about us.

From nannies and household professionals (our application): name, contact details, address, work history, references and their contact details, education, certifications (such as CPR and First Aid, TrustLine and TB), driving information, languages, availability and pay expectations, and any photo, resume or documents you upload, and how you heard about us.

Payments: payments are processed by our payment providers, such as Stripe. We do not store full card numbers. We keep a record that a payment was made.

Communications: emails, texts, calls and messages between you and our team.

Website use: pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location, and the site or link that brought you to us (including campaign tags in links). We use Google Analytics and similar analytics tools, cookies and similar technologies. We also keep a small note in your browser, for up to 90 days, of the first way you reached our site, so we can learn which of our efforts bring families and nannies to us.

Background screening: for nannies we may place, and only with your consent, we arrange background screening such as TrustLine. Results are used only to evaluate suitability and are available only to authorized agency staff.

How we use information

To match families with nannies and household professionals; to review applications; to arrange interviews, trial days and placements; to process fees and payments; to communicate with you; to understand and improve our website and services; to measure how people find us; to follow the law; and to protect against fraud and misuse. If you ask to hear from us, we may send you updates or a newsletter, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

How we share information

Within a placement: we share information between a family and a nanny only as needed to consider and arrange a placement, and our staff review every introduction. A nanny's profile is shared with a family only for a position she may be considered for.

Service providers: companies that help us run our business, such as website hosting, database, email, payment, analytics and background-screening providers. They may use the information only to provide their services to us.

Legal and safety: when required by law or to protect people, our business or our rights.

Business changes: if our business is sold or merged, information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers for targeted advertising.

Children's information

We collect information about children only from their parents or guardians, only to find suitable care, and we use it only for that purpose. Our website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

How long we keep information

We keep information as long as needed to carry out placements, honor our replacement guarantee, meet legal, tax and accounting requirements, and resolve disputes. After that we delete it or remove identifying details.

Your choices and rights

You may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. California residents have these rights under California law, and we will not treat you differently for using them. To make a request, email robin@nannyconnection.com or call (925) 743-0587. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any message, and you can control cookies in your browser settings.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections, access limited to authorized staff, and secure storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

Our site may link to other sites, such as social media. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date.
